What is deeper in a man is the skin. (P. Valery)

VTA is a subcortical area related to the dopaminergic pathway and involved in cerebral circuits that mediate the subjective feelings of pleasure and reward.

Snatching the eternal out of the desperately fleeting is the great magic trick of human existence” (T. Williams)

Dance and the brain are working on the same path: they try to display the reality, but in order to do that, they have to reject an amount of informations, unessential for the aim of snatching the essential. The aim of this project is to experiment this connection between theoretical research and performative application with two dancers, based on the Motionbank model, starting from the act of creation.  We would like to investigate how the choreographic inspiration works into the mind of the author and to the body of the dancer. Gestures, association of images, the process of embodiment are part of the process of shaping an aesthetic vision of the choreographer.

What happens when we dance with music, or when we move changing the light? The changing of space and time plays with the relation between bodies and choreographic mapping.

The interdisciplinary approach focus on what happen to the audience and the reason why there is an aesthetic resonance between dancer’s body and brain activation of the spectator.
