Bio

Born in Piacenza (IT) in 1987, his first encounter with dance was in Chòros, the hometown dance school and with New Dance Concept of Alex Atzewi. He studied full-time between Milan and in Hamlyn Ballet School in Florence, under the guidance of Bruce Michelson, Alessandra Alberti, Robert North, Cristina Rizzo, where he enhanced the ballet and contemporary repertoire. Between 2011 and 2013 he studied in Rome, Berlin, Bruxelles and the Eko Dance project in Turin, with Pompea Santoro and Veli Peltokallio. In Turin he studied in the international training program of Nuova Officina della Danza, through which he trained Gaga and the most recent approaches to choreography.

He danced in Lyric Dance Company, Nicoletta Cabassi/Lubber Das, Artemis Danza, Cie Willy Dorner, Hervè Chaussard, Teatro Regio of Turin, Teatro Comunale of Bologna, Teatro Regio of Parma e in the lyrical operas of Teatro La Scala - Milan.

From 2014 he began his own path as a choreographer, with the first duo Relation_Á bout de souffle with Riccardo Meroni for the Festival Coreografie Ad Arte - Spazio Tadini in Milan. The interest for creation and dramaturgy increases in 2018,  Nóstoi | View Room was performed at the Live Art Festival in Rome, at the Pecci Contemporary Art Center in Prato, at the L’Altra Scena Festival in Piacenza and on site-specific at the Corpo a Corpo of PAV – Parco Arte Vivente in Turin.

In 2017 he creates the solo GRNDR - Date no one, selected for the Miniatures Festival (Perugia) and for Principi Attivi Solo Contest - Milan. This solo was supported by PARC Performing Arts and Research Centre and it debuted in 2020 at Fabbrica Europa Festival. The duet Unknown performed in Bologna for Art On Spot, Corpo a Corpo Festival (Turin) and in Almadanza SOFABED program. In 2018 with his colleague Gennaro Maione, he created A U T O R I S S I M I, with the collaboration of Artgarage - Choreographic center of contemporary arts (Pozzuoli - NA).

In 2019 he won a collaboration with P.A.R.T.S. of Brussels through a residence in the Summer Studios.

Pulse won Permutazioni project, choreographic coworking promoted by Zerogrammi / Casa LUFT, Piemonte dal Vivo Foundation and is selected by Anghiari Dance Hub 2018, and Performing Lands Program, with a preview at Mirabilia Festival 2020.

In 2021 the project Echea won the Cross Award - Verbania and the performance was hosted at Teatri di Vita - Bologna. In 2022 Echea is selected by Progetto Cura - residencies program, passing through the program Dialoghi Residenze delle arti performative at Villa Manin (Passariano) -  CSS Teatro stabile di innovazione del FVG and PARC Performing Arts and Research Centre (Firenze).

Alongside, he graduated in University of Milan in History of Fine Arts, and then he obtained his Master at the University of Turin in Cinema and Performing Arts. He is currently a PhD in the field of Dance and Neuroesthetic Studies. Previously he was also researcher for the PRIN project Per-Forming the Social with the Universities of Turin, Genoa, Pavia, Catholic University of Milan, La Sapienza of Rome. He is currently a fellow researcher in La Sapienza University and University of Bologna.

He worked in back office jobs in theatre: press office and events organization, project manager (Orizzonti Festival di Chiusi 2015 and Festival Incanti in 2015, Torinodanza 2018, Mirabilia Festival). He collaborated as a critic in the editorial staff of Theatron2.0. 

He has published several contributions in specialised journals and in international conferences. Pulse  in 2021 was presented at the Danses et Rituels symposium at the Centre National de la Danse - Pantin (FR).
